Holistic website support days: Three clients, three transformations

A website is never truly finished. It’s an evolving space that should grow with your business.

I love working with service-based businesses in the wellness and nature industries – practitioners, coaches and consultants who are doing their soul work and legacy work. It’s my belief that your website should be a true reflection of your mission, so that it helps you connect with the people who need your work the most.

But I also know, from first-hand client experience, that it’s very common to start feeling disconnected from your site. And when this happens, you might stop wanting to edit it yourself because you can’t bear to look at it, and you might also stop sharing it. This is good! It can really hold you back from how you feel about your business and reaching the right clients.

And this is where my Holistic Website Support Days come in…

The word holistic is at the heart of what I do. It reflects both the businesses I work with – those who take a whole-person, deeply intentional approach to their work – and my own philosophy. I believe that marketing, branding and website design should be just as thoughtful, aligning with your values, vision and the way you naturally work best. You can read more about my approach in my creative manifesto.

What is a Holistic Website Support Day?

A Holistic Website Support Day is a one-day intensive where we work through your website wishlist to make meaningful improvements. Think of it as a nurturing reset for your site! We’ll give it some TLC so that it better reflects what you do, where you’re heading and the deeper purpose behind your work. It’s about helping you to fall back in love with your website so that you feel excited to share it again.

Together, we’ll focus on:

  • Clarifying and aligning your messaging

  • Improving usability and flow for a better user experience

  • Fine-tuning your design so it reflects the feeling you want your visitors to have

  • Strengthening your calls to action to encourage meaningful engagement

Bringing my experience in marketing and communications to the table, we’ll decide on the best course of action together, ensuring every tweak or improvement is aligned with your broader business goal.

What’s included?

When you book, I’ll send you a workbook to help you think strategically about your website in line with your business objectives. We then have a strategic planning session around a week before the day of the intensive itself. This gives us time to prioritise your website wishlist and gather any additional content or resources.

Then, on the day of the intensive, I’ll work through your website wishlist in order of priority. My full attention is solely on you and your business and many of my clients are often surprised and delighted by the amount we manage to get done on this day. At the end of the day, I’ll share a video walkthrough of what I’ve worked where helpful or anything you need to know about the changes made to your site.

Client 1: Marketing Consultant

This client had been running her marketing consultancy for many years and it felt a little disconnected from where her business was now. She had headshot photos from around seven years ago that she wanted to replace with new ones she’d just had taken.

She was also building a second business on Squarespace 7.1, so it made sense to migrate her marketing consultancy site from Squarespace 7.0 to 7.1 for consistency and ease of management. (While Squarespace continues to support 7.0, all new features are now developed for 7.1, which offers more flexibility, cleaner design options and an easier editing experience.)

What we did:

Migrated her website from Squarespace 7.0 to 7.1, making for a smoother editing experience and accessing more powerful features.

Updated her images with fresh, authentic headshots that truly reflect who she is now, not who she was.

Refined the website navigation, simplifying the user experience and making it easier for visitors to find what they need.

Reviewed her site’s content and structure, offering fresh insights and actionable marketing recommendations, such as:

  • Highlighting her location, how and where she works to make it easier for potential clients to see themselves working together.

  • Changing calls to action from "learn more" to something more compelling, to boost engagement and conversions.

  • Further streamlining the navigation by removing the "Home" link (most users expect to get there by clicking the logo anyway).

  • Suggesting a marketing activity to help her manifest her next ideal client: writing a blog post focused on the service she’s most excited to offer and then sharing it far and wide.

Client’s response:

"Thank you so very much for today. As ever, you have been brilliant to work with. Thank you for your insight and suggestions; not too much, just so valuable. I do actually feel more love towards this business now. Will plan my next steps…. I so appreciate you.”

She even sent me a beautiful bouquet of spring flowers with a note that read: “What a star! Thank you so very much for everything.” I was so touched! Just, wow.

Client 2: Life Coach

This life coach and meditation instructor wanted her website to feel like a true extension of her work – grounded, welcoming and deeply aligned with her values. She felt disconnected from her site and wanted a space that better reflected her work, reconnected her with her brand and invited the right people in.

What we did:

During the day, we updated the homepage and services page and I also shared ideas for future development. Here are a few of the specifics:

Hero section revamp: Refreshed the hero section with a welcoming photo and a clear call to action for a free clarity call, giving the site a warm, inviting feel. Added an announcement bar to promote a Facebook group – a strategic goal for the site,

Service offerings enhancement: Introduced nature-inspired textures (crystals, leaves, stone) directly inspired by a recent retreat. These textures were added as window shapes that mirror my client’s logo for consistency and brand recognition. We also revamped the service section with clickable buttons and highlighted corporate packages and speaking engagements.

Marketing & promotion: Added sections for my client’s ‘Self-love Club’ newsletter and Facebook group, featuring personal shots of her to add warmth and energy. Using Squarespace’s ‘saved sections,’ she’ll be able to easily use this section in other key spots across her site.

Client’s feedback:

"Ali has blown me away with the work she’s done. I feel like she has breathed so much life, joy, and love into my website. Her attention to the little details has been incredible and far exceeded what I thought she would be able to do. It’s a true testament to her passion and commitment to her work and her clients.

“She has this amazing ability to really focus in on what matters; she took my mission, my rituals, my services, and made them shine! Taking everything she knew about me, my passion, my why, and what I’m wanting to share with women, and weaved it beautifully into my web pages. I felt so disconnected from my website before, it wasn’t something I really wanted to share or work on. And now I feel excited, and proud to share it. Because it truly feels like me.”

Client 3: Customer Experience Consultant

This client works in customer experience and wanted her website to feel clear, confident, and well-structured. She had great content but needed support in refining the layout, improving readability, and ensuring her site truly reflected her expertise and professionalism.

What we did:

Updated existing service descriptions and added a new service to reflect her new offerings.
Added new headshot photos to refresh the site’s overall look.
Added a booking link in several places to make it easy for clients to book a discovery call, reducing friction in the customer journey.
Improved formatting and layout in key areas, making content breathe for better UX.
Cleaned up the footer for easier navigation.

Client’s response:

"I felt in a really safe pair of hands with Ali. I knew she would do a really good job. What I really loved was seeing my website change over the course of the day. And seeing how much neater it looked!

“Another favourite thing about our day together was how forthcoming Ali was with ideas. She's really good at the strategy and looking at the bigger picture.

“Everything was great. All the edits were impressive too. Ali's got a really good eye for detail and grammar. I felt really comfortable with everything. Thanks, Ali!”
